property

This project will protect and enhance water quality in the Lake Baroon catchment by re-vegetation of the creek frontage on Obi Obi Creek. The area will be weeded and re-vegetated with local trees, shrubs and ground covers to complete connectivity between remnant vegetation (endangered gallery rainforest), previous re-vegetation areas and the riparian zone. Species selected on their buffering ability and consistent with regional ecosystems will be planted by volunteers, raising awareness, skills and community capacity. The habitat for platypus and endangered mountain crayfish will be enhanced. The property will be a demonstration site to encourage participation in environmental activities by farmers including a field walk.
