Regional Landcare Facilitator projectThe Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) project is an Australian Government funded, Caring for our Country initiative that provides funding for 56 organisations around Australia to support farmers and land managers as well as encourage conservation in local communities.

The successful organisations that make up the RLF are a mix of regional bodies and Landcare groups, including the Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG), of which LBCCG’s Project Manager, Mark Amos was selected for the steering committee, chosen through an open and competitive process.

Each organisation will receive funding for three years for a Regional Landcare Facilitator.

Facilitators will help Landcare and production groups meet the challenges of food security, climate change and the protection of biodiversity. They will also promote opportunities for groups to access funds and provide an effective link between community groups and the regional bodies.

Whether communities are rural, urban or peri-urban, they will be able to access information that they want from government, such as food security, climate and the environment and apply this knowledge in a way that meets local needs.

Our local Regional Landcare Facilitators are Kay Enkelmann and Nikki Hellyer and can be contacted at BMRG here.
